bfrankdc
At the mayoral forum last night, Candidate Fenty pledged no new taxes for the residents or business in the District, citing cuts in bloated government and better management. The other candidates balked saying that they city's situation is not teneable without the flexibility to add fees/raise taxes if needed. Is Fenty playing more of the populous game, or is this a real pledge to the business community and tax-paying residents?
factchecker2
And here's something quite amusing: Jonathan Rees, in a press release/email sent around town, says that Adrian Fenty stole Rees' tax plan. Here's the Rees release: Last summer, I proposed as part of my platform no new taxes, tax cuts which could be achieved by addressing the over bloated DC Government civil service system and the massive mismanagement. Tom Knott of the Wash Times wrote about it. Read my platform on the issues of taxes and etc. > http://www.dc2006 Adrian Fenty back then did not embrace my ideas but now, if you look at all he is saying, he is literally advocating as a part of his promise to voters exactly "that" verbatim what I have been saying. Adrian Fenty should change his name to Mr. Xerox as he could not have done a better job of copying my platform on the tax issues. Fenty is clueless on matters of economics, labor management and etcetera so what does he do? He takes all of my ideas and tries to pass then off as if he created them. Take a closer look at what Fenty is saying and slapping him with the name Mr. Xerox as he clearly spitted out what I have said in many circle. Call it stealing, plagiarism or what have you but I take Fenty's recent actions as an endorsement of me and my ideas but rest assured, Mr. Fenty can tell you what he wants to do but let's see if he can explain his theft of my ideas into a workable plan and that is where he will come up. truthseeker
I saw that! It's a masterpiece of Reesian prose. The malapropisms! The errors! The grandiosity! The mangled syntax!!!! * wiping away tears of laughter* Sheer comic perfection. scooper
Obviously nobody really read Rees website because ever since he erected it, it did speak of those tax cuts and better management issues that Fenty now promotes. Whether Fenty stole the ideas from Rees or is on the same wave lenght does not matter because I think it is clear most of us want tax cuts. scooper
I should be laughing at you for wasting so much of your time debating Jonathan Rees and that makes him in my eyes a better person than you as you like others have allowed him to upset you so much that you cannot let go and keep on coming at him. If you were the better person which obviously you are not, then you would ignore him and move on. Read it? We have it memorized! We quote it, for laughs, at parties!! bfrankdc
I suppose if "he" stopped spamming his campaign and stopped his lies, then there would be no reason for someone like me to post. Stop the lies. Stop the spam. I will go away. B. bfrankdc
The key there is "might". They ARE lies, but since you keep repeating it everywhere and often, in your mind they are truths. The facts behind your allegations simply do not add up, whether they are about your past, about your present, or about your opponents. As long as you continue to post the falsehoods around the internet, you can expect to be called on it, backed up of course, with the truth (links to third party websites which verify facts, etc.) B. bfrankdc
No, my truths are backed up by links to independant third parties which demonstrate veracity. Your truths are based in shifting sands of a fantasy world. I am still waiting for such things as: 1) what Yahoo Moderators are favoring what candidates (names, links etc.); 2) links to places where malicious posts were made about Kwame Brown and Harold Brazil in 2004; 3) places where any of my posts were false (I have been awaiting that one for months); B. Mr Rees
The fact is, Fenty did look at my platform back in August and said it remined him of George H. Bush and nobody can promise no new taxes. Now Fenty promotes what he first said was not feasible. Read it? We have it memorized! We quote it, for laughs, at parties!! Fred Vinson who moderates the Tenleytown list server did in fact attend Mary Chehs kick off and gave her $100. Look at her next filing at the OCF.
