Guest governor@bobehrlich.com
Working together these past few years, you and I have made Maryland a cleaner safer, and more prosperous place to live. In just under three years, we have: Turned $4 billion in deficits into a $1.7 billion surplus. Fully funded public schools with a record $1 billion increase. Increased college need-based scholarships by 61 percent. Enacted the historic Chesapeake Bay Restoration Act, which will reduce nitrogen pollution into the Bay by seven million pounds per year-cutting current levels nearly in half. Created the first-in-the nation Department of Disabilities, empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve personal and professional goals. Toughened penalties for sex offenders, drunk drivers and witness intimidators. And defeated billions in tax hikes proposed by the LIBERAL LEADERS of the Maryland LEGISLATURE
InnocentBystander
As a student at the University of Maryland in College Park, I'd like to point out that you've done very poorly in taking care of higher education in the state. There have been unprecedented tuition hikes and it looks like they're going to continue to occur. When are you going to make sure people are have the education they need to get jobs in the area?
