Rosemary2k6
Hello Valencia, I am a very vivacious spontaneous career woman who loves the excitement of hair versatility and fashion. About 5 or more years ago I went natural. I must admit it was an uphill battle but it was well worth the journey. I tried double strand twists, the straw set and for the past 2 years I have been styling my own hair (and coloring it). I believe my hair type is 4b/c because it's coarse and slightly kinky with an "s" curl pattern (see the picture on the RIGHT below). Actually that picture and the length looks like me from behind. Unfortunately my hair will not grow beyond 3-4 inches. Therefore I no longer have the versatility of pulling it in a ponytail (as when I had shoulder length relaxed hair), flat ironing it etc., The only style (of choice) is the natural curly ringlet look which I love and everyone else loves on me (men and women). Unfortunately, over the years I dread doing my hair because the entire process takes about 3 hours whenever I have to wash, twist, let dry, and then about an hour to untwist and style. My question is... can the fusion technique be used on natural hair? Can I get the same curly funky (but 10" longer) look that I love AND hopefully relieve me of dealing with my OWN HAIR with as little maintenance as possible with the weaved and/or Fushion hair. In order to get the Fusion hair do I have to relax my hair (which isn't an option for me)? Most of the photos I've seen on your photo gallery look like women with relaxed or biracial hair. I tried a hair weave in the 90's but it wasn't professionally done and you could see the tracks at my forehead so I had to wear bangs and kept overlapping my relaxed hair at the hairline etc., I know that I could get a full hairweave with human bohemian curly hair because I have seen that look on the internet on some natural hair weave websites. I believe they may have to braid all my hair and then weave in this bohemian curly hair thus giving me the "freedom" so that I can wash and go! After 5 years of twisting, coloring etc., I get depressed just thinking about the process of doing my own hair (its just to time consuming). Besides I "long" for my hair blowing in the wind and with body, movement and bounce! Below is a picture of Rachel True from the UPN show Half & Half. That look (but not as wild) is what inspired me to go natural. No... I am not biracial (like the actress) but I simply have a passion to get this look and to have tremendous fun with the versatility of pulling it back in a ponytail or pinning it up in a bun and having some hair trickle down around my hairline framing my face. The thought of wash and go hair is a dream for me at this point. The picture to the right is pretty much like my hair is right now which is about 3 to 4 inches short, with tight rinklets (similar to a straw set). If the Fusion look must be done on permed hair, can you perhaps recommend a highly professional hair extension specialist for weaving and hair extensions? Are there newer techniques for weaving hair now or do they still have to braid your hair? Is Bohemian hair out dated and replaced by a Fresh look on the market like this Remy Hair I heard mentioned on your message board? Last month a stylist did showed me some human wavy hair like the actress Joan on the t.v. sitcom Girlfriends. IT WAS GORGEOUS! I love Joan's natural curly looking hair which reflects my sophisticated lifestyle. Please advise... and by the way... I appreciate your candid words of wisdom on the message board. P.S. Sorry... the picture I had attached DID NOT forward on this message board Rbell Rbell
