Rees for DC City Council Ward 3 is looking for political science majors who need to achieve college credits by working on a political campaign.

 

Rees for DC City Council Ward 3 is looking for interns to work Mondays – Fridays outside of the Metro train stations ( Zoo, Cleveland Park, Tenleytown, & Friendship Heights) handing out political literature including voters’ registration forms during the hours of 5:00 – 7:30 PM.

 

Please check first with your college if you can obtain credits working on a local campaign.

People, you have it all wrong. Intowner, J.T., Frank T, Frank R, Lucy, Phyllis or whatever name “she” is using is in truth a very disgruntled female lawyer in Washington, DC who lost her job because she worked for a non-profit organization helping out battered women and took advantage of her clients by having same sex relations with them during a stressful period of time in their lives and lost her job over it.

 

Ignore her as she goes around attacking on the net anyone she decides not to like and that changes from day to day.

I just posted on another (unrelated) forum, Crime Watch, because there was a thread by Rees' supporters there. I meant to post my thoughts about his campaign on one of the neighborhood forums, but I made the mistake of posting there first. (In part because the Rees campaign has been posting their messages everywhere regardless of whether the forum is appropriate.)

 

So here I go. It's my feeling that the reason Jonathan Rees has been so active on DC Pages is that he's been banned from most, if not all, other neighborhood listserves. Spam is spam and just because Jonathan Rees claims to be running for City Council doesn't make him a real candidate. I won't speculate on exactly what he's doing, but it's certainly not an actual campaign for political office.

 

Some listserves where I'm reasonably sure Rees and his followers (many of whom seem to be made up) have been banned or thwarted are:

I suspect that somebody not associated with me posted my stuff where it should not have been as a means of using that as a vehicle to attack me knowing that was being dishonest.

As a so-called candidate for Ward 3 City Council, it's probably not a good idea for you to make assumptions about or attack voters in Ward 3. Just my two cents worth of advice.

 

It's interesting that you claim not to have been banned from the various neighborhood listservs (they're not chat rooms) including Tenleytown, Cleveland Park, Palisades, Glover Park, and Chevy Chase DC. It is my belief that you and your supporters (are they real people?) have been removed from these listservs for cause. Once again: There's nothing but silence from you on these listservs.

 

Your campaign seems to be fashioned mostly of imagination. You're marred with children? Then why is there no picture of you and your family on your website -- virtually all politicians like to show off their family.

 

Why couldn't you remember the URL to your own website when you appeared on the Linda Chavez show?

 

Why is it when I read about the City Council race in the Washington Post and Northwest Current there's no mention of you?

 

How about giving a speech somewhere in Ward 3? Let voters meet you and see you in person. You seem to exist only on the Internet and on flyers.

I heard Mr. Rees on the Linda Chavez program and he in fact gave a correct website for his campaign and that is how I found it. Obviously JT, you are not here for any good reason but just to be a pain in the ass.

 

Mr. Rees did speak at three events but of course JT doesn't want to admit it or was too busy at home harassing people on the internet that he failed to attend those events in Ward 3.

 

Mr. Rees is not obligated to put on his website or literature pictures of his family so nut jobs like JT can harass them too.

JT there is no doubt in my mind that either you are a scared opponent of Mr. Rees or working for one as nobody who is half way normal would be doling what you are or you are in fact gay and have an attraction for Mr. Rees.

If you think Mr. Rees does not exist and his campaign is a fraud then why not ask Jack Evans, Jim Graham or Vincent Gray if it is, if Mr. Rees did not attend public events with them and speak.

 

As to where he works, I think the three newspaper articles about him pointed that out but obviously you are so hateful to him that you ignored that and other facts that everybody else read in black and white.

For the record: The event that Mayor Williams was at this evening was the "Third Annual Mayor's Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation" held at the Kennedy-Warren. It goes without saying that Mr. Rees didn't get any award.

 

There were hundreds of people at tonight's event. Maybe Mr. Rees was there, maybe not -- it was a large crowd. But Jonathan Rees wasn't with Mayor Williams during the awards presentation and wasn't "seated" next to the Mayor.
