Guest Colleen Noland
The Heart of America Foundation Tens of thousands of the victims of Hurricane Katrina are school-aged children, displaced from their homes and starting school with only a few belongings and the support of what family they have left. Children in our area are looking for ways to help children affected by this disaster. Show these kids that we care – help them start school with the supplies they need to read, succeed, and make a difference! Heart of America’s Books From the Heart™ program is coordinating* Operation BuddyPack – an outreach effort to supply kids whose lives have been shattered with the supplies they need to start their new school year with hope for the future! In order for this project to be successful we need volunteers to prepare shipments before they leave for the Gulf Coast region. We need help in our office and warehouse checking and assembling BuddyPacks for shipments Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8A - 5P. Contact Colleen Noland at colleen@heartofamerica.org to get involved. Together we can help the youngest victims of Katrina.
