Guest Jamaica
Has anyone noticed all of Councilmember Orange's signs posted throughout the District? I looked on his web site to get his political positions, but found none.
Guest Bob Fitrakis
I know that Vincent Orange introduced emergency legislation to strip out the union requirements to build the new stadium, but the council shot the measure down 10-3. The council is expected to offer more support for a non-emergency version of the bill in the fall, but it's still unclear whether it will have the votes to pass. Guest eitherweb
Council member Orange and Ward 5 have enjoyed great success in economic development projects (including Home Depot, Giant, XM Satellite), constituent services and education. Council member Orange has led the way for establishing McKinley Tech as the state of the art technology high school for the District, ensuring that all DC public school children receive books for their core subjects in a timely manner and establishing the first District of Columbia public legal holiday, April 16, as DC Emancipation Day.
