Guest Senator George Allen
I had a positive meeting with United States Supreme Court Nominee Judge John Roberts. We spoke about the importance of precedent, individual rights, how to interpret state laws as well as a variety of other issues. I found Judge Roberts to be a well-grounded individual whom I believe understands that the proper role of a judge is to apply the law and not invent it. He showed me that he understands the Constitution and that the Constitution should not be amended by judicial decree. After our meeting I feel that Judge Roberts has the right kind of judicial philosophy. I am confident he will be an outstanding member of the Supreme Court who will be a responsible and influential voice for years to come.
