Guest Americans for Kerry
There are only seven days until Election Day, and John Kerry, John Edwards, and Democrats down the ticket need you more than ever for the final and most crucial part of the campaign. If you are already a volunteer, thank you. If you haven't volunteered before, this is the time to get involved and make the difference this year. There are three different ways to get involved: Get on a bus to Pennsylvania for day trips on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or Election Day; join us for a road trip to Ohio where we'll go door-to-door on Sunday and Monday and help out with local voter protection efforts on Election Day; and make phone calls at the Democratic Party's Washington, D.C., phonebank on Capitol Hill any day of the week, including the weekend. Bus Trips to Pennsylvania Daily bus trips to canvass door-to-door are on Friday October 29; Saturday, October 30; Sunday, October 31; Monday, November 1; and Election Day, Tuesday, November 2. WHEN: Be there at 7:00 a.m. for a 7:15 a.m. boarding time. You will be going door to door from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You will arrive back in the district between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. WHERE: 901 15th St., NW Washington, DC DETAILS: A briefing on how to be an effective canvasser will be given upon arrival at the local headquarters. Bring a bag lunch. Children are welcome. Please show up early as seats are limited and fill up quickly. If you are able to join us on Election Day, please make sure to vote first! Road Trip to Ohio Join us for a road trip to Ohio where we'll travel to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Youngstown, and Columbus. This is a multiple-day, overnight trip -- accommodations will be provided for you. WHEN: Buses will depart at 9:00 a.m. sharp on Saturday, October 30 You will arrive back in D.C. on Wednesday, November 3 WHERE: 901 15th St., NW Washington, DC DETAILS: Volunteers will be canvassing precincts on Sunday and Monday. On Election Day, we'll be working at the polling places to insure that people are not denied the right to vote. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at bustrips@americansforkerry.com. Capitol Hill Phonebank The Democratic Party's phonebank in Washington, DC, on Capitol Hill has the capacity to reach tens of thousands of undecided voters in battleground states. Whether you can come in for your lunch hour, after work, or a full day, your help at the phonebank will make a difference. Refreshments will be provided. If you are able to, please bring your own cell phone and charger (this is not required.) If possible, please consider coming during the day rather than just in the evenings, although we'll welcome you anytime! WHEN: Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to midnight Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to midnight WHERE: 511 C Street, NE Capitol Hill at Stanton Park Washington, DC DETAILS: Nearest metro: Union Station One-on-one encounters have proven to be the most effective way to connect with voters. As a phonebank or canvass volunteer you can personally reach hundreds of undecided voters -- in some states that number might add up to victory. Even a small amount of your time will make a big difference in these final days for John Kerry, John Edwards, and Democrats down the ticket. Thank you for everything that you do, D.C. for Kerry-Edwards
