Guest Adnan Darwash
Through intimidation and bribes, the US Middle East policy has been to a large extent successful in controlling the flow of Oil to US corporations and in embracing Israeli crimes and violations. The US-installed local governments have been defying their people in going along with USraeli designs for the area, including the so-called re-drawing the map of the M.E. As a result, a number of countries in the area have been destroyed or fragmented. Iraq, Libya and Sudan are as an example while Syria is expected to join soon. But the rise of Iran as a powerful state, the readiness of Hezbullah to punish the arrogant Israelis and the popular uprisings in the Arab world constitute thorns in the side of USraeli designs. One shouldn’t forget Condoleeza Rice on the eve of the Israeli attack on Lebanon in 2006 saying that the new map of the Middle East will be implemented soon. Miss Rice and Tony Blair were sure that the mighty Israeli army and air force will reach the Litani River and that Lebanon will be part of the intended new economic and political zone made of Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Kuwait under the USraeli control. This will ensure an abundance of Land, Oil and water managed and controlled by USraeli corporations. But the unexpected fierce Hezbullah resistance and thousands of rockets punctured the tyres of the USraeli dream. Besides the Arab people’s anger with US M.E. policy, the addition of powerful Iran to the equation renders US attempt to secure Arab Oil resources incompatible with its present status as a party to all Israeli crimes against Arabs. At this point in the election campaign, both Romney and Obama tend to ignore US interests in favour of securing Jewish support, albeit knowing of the long-term damaging consequences. Luke_Wilbur
I wish that Iran and Israel could learn to better respect each other.
Guest Adnan Darwash
During the Shah's rule, the Israelis had a very strong ties to Iran. In cooperation wit with the CIA, Israeli agents were torturing and killing Iranian intellectuals who oposed the Shah. At the time, US ambassador to Tehran was no other than James Holmes, a former CIA director. It is not in the interest of the Iranian people or Middle East peace if Iran and Israel become friends again. We want the Iranians to be with us and not with the USraeli criminal practices.Neiter the Israelis nor their American mentors are considered as forces for the good of the area- Adnan Darwash Iraq Occupation Times
Guest Desert Rat
Iran's Quds Force is an intelligence operative unit just like the CIA and Mossad. All three follow orders from their policy makers. Quds Force attempted assassinate Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Adel Al-Jubeir. Quds Force distributed explosives and ammunition to Shiite militia groups in Iraq. What are you really trying to state?
Guest Adnan Darwash
What is the importance of kiling an irrelevant Saudi ambassador to Washington D.C.? It is an FB- hatched plot as part of attempts to undermine Iran and to fuel hatred against it. By the way, did you know that 25% of Americans still believe that Saddam was behind the 9/11 attacks on the USA? The mighty US media are controlled by special interests that continue to spin stories to scare people and to prepare for wars. America has been at war for the best part of the last 70 years. Guest August
What about the 75% that realize there was no clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with Al Qaeda. One of the reasons people voted for Barack Obama is that his policy was to get the United States out of Iraq. But, you insist fuel the flames of hostility. Consider taking an anger management class. Try focusing the world's attention on liking your side. There are so many interesting cultural attractions and rich history to be found throughout the Middle East and Persia. The architecture is awe inspiring.
Guest Adnan Darwash
In Iraq, the Americans have killed and displaced millions and destroyed and fragmented the country. It is not enough to talk about stopping the war in Iraq. The Americans must apologise and compensate the Iraqis for the illegal war. Don't forget that the Americans have also voted for closing the Guantanamo Gulag. The hatred for America in Iraq will remain for generations to come. I dare any American to sit in a cafe in downtown Baghdad and order a drink. Adnan Darwash, Iraq Occupation Times
Guest August
Exhibiting hostility can prove ineffective in solving problems. Fight in the Way of God against those who fight you, but do not go beyond the limits. God does not love those who go beyond the limits. {Quran 2:190]
