Guest ALWAYS RED_*
Today, U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) wrote a letter to President Barack Obama expressing his concern regarding the recent announcement that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has signed as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau to assist with recruiting temporary census workers. “The people of this nation deserve a census that is conducted in a fair and accurate manner, using the best methods to determine the outcome, and that is free from political tampering,” said Shelby. “Given ACORN’s history and political connections, the U.S. Census Bureau should not partner with an organization that has systemic problems with both accuracy and legitimacy.” The full text of the letter is below: March 20, 2009 President Barack Obama The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20500 Dear President Obama, I am writing with great concern regarding the recent announcement that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has signed as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau to assist with recruiting temporary census workers. Past allegations of fraud should raise great concern about the accuracy of data provided by this organization. Washington State filed felony charges in 2007 against several paid ACORN employees and supervisors for falsifying 1,700 fraudulent voter registration cards. An ACORN worker in Pennsylvania was sentenced in 2008 for fabricating 29 falsified voter registration forms. In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included underage, as well as dead, voters. ACORN has been implicated in similar voter registration schemes around the country and its activities were frequently questioned throughout the 2008 presidential election. To keep the census nonpartisan, we cannot allow a biased, politically-active organization taking any type of official role in the process, let alone recruitment. By over counting here, and under counting there, manipulation could take place solely for political gain. Using ACORN to mobilize hundreds of thousands of temporary workers can surely lead to abuses for those who want to gain political advantage, just as we saw with the voter registration issues in past elections. The laws that govern voter fraud were not enough to dissuade those with the intent to throw an election and it is doubtful that the laws governing fraud in the census will be any more effective against such deceitful intents. The people of this nation deserve a census that is conducted in a fair and accurate manner, using the best methods to determine the outcome, and that is free from political tampering. Given ACORN’s history and political connections, the U.S. Census Bureau should not partner with an organization that has systemic problems with both accuracy and legitimacy. We must not let the census become a blatant political tool. Sincerely, Richard Shelby
Guest Human_*
How much is the contract worth? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today, U.S. Census Bureau should not partner with an organization that has systemic problems with both accuracy and legitimacy.” The full text of the letter is below:
Luke_Wilbur
I just got this email sent to me: Many say ACORN stole votes in 2008. Now it appears that they'll have the opportunity to steal congressional seats in 2010? You remember ACORN - the gang of wild-eyed leftists who registered legions of fictitious voters for Barack Obama just last year? Investor's Business Daily wrote: "[ACORN's] voter-registration fraud is rampant. In Nevada, state officials say the fraudulent registrations included forms for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys football team, including quarterback Tony Romo... Nevada, along with several other key battleground states, requires no ID to vote." Do you want this shameless swarm of ideologues helping Barack Hussein Obama run your government? It seems that Obama does... in December he told a cheering mob of extremist groups, including ACORN: "We're going to be calling all of you in to help us run the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all over the country." And he's been as good as his word! Guess what ACORN will doing next year! Fox News reported that ACORN "signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States." That's right, the storm troopers of ACORN will be knocking on doors all over the country, pretending to count Americans the way they pretended to register voters. The only question that remains is; are you going to let them get away with it?
Guest HUMAN_*
Most interesting to say the least. I should have asked; HOW MANY CONTRACTS will they get With the Government? http://gopleader.gov/UploadedFiles/UPDATED_ACORN_CHART.pdf

Guest Human_*
It's going to get alot larger when the democrats fiddle with "The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008". To the Democrats; You should change the .gov web sites too "NO-CHANGE.GOV", because by the time you are done with all the programs you want in place? THAT'S EXACTLY what none of us are going to have "Not even the change in our pockets". By the way; Barack Obama I dare you to send troops to the Border, because this IS EXACTLY whats going to happen. National Guard troops cross the border because some one is throwing rocks at them or shooting at them, and once they cross the border THEY WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $53,643,444.58 is a pretty large number. Guest Michael Steele
The Obama Democrats and their leftist allies at ACORN, the so-called “Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now,” are doing all they can to cement left-wing rule in Washington for good. Over $50 million in federal funding money has found its way into the hands of ACORN’s leftist activists over the last several years, but now the Democrats are about to make $8.5 billion more in tax-payer funds available to this radical group. All of this for an organization indicted just last week in Nevada, and charged with similar allegations in Pennsylvania, for paying money for fraudulent voter registrations in last November’s election. Minnesota Republican Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s amendment to block indicted organizations from collecting more public funding passed unanimously through the U.S. House Financial Services Committee. But now Committee Chairman Barney Frank, far-left Democrat from Massachusetts, has decided he made a mistake by supporting the amendment, and will now offer his own amendment to restore ACORN’s opportunity of receiving billions of taxpayer dollars. "I did not read it carefully, and it was in the last minute that the amendment was accepted," said Frank. "It is a deeply flawed amendment and I am opposed to it…" Didn’t read it carefully -- or just now realized what it meant for his pals at ACORN? Since ACORN’s efforts are all about electing leftist Democrats like himself, why would Frank want them to go unrewarded? It’s time we told Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama that we won’t tolerate using our tax dollars to pay off their electoral support machine. That’s why I hope you’ll take this opportunity to send Barney and Nancy an eCard to let them know that the Democrats’ assault against our free election right to “One Person, One Vote” and the Rule of Law will not be tolerated. And when you do, I hope you will help the Republican Party’s effort to spread the word about the Obama Democrats’ misuse of power and plans to tighten their grip on our country. Sincerely, Michael Steele Chairman, Republican National Committee
