Guest human_*
Now this one food that I'm not going to try. But it does give a new meaning to the word "Dog Food". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.qatarliving.comSPAM148955 More than 50 dogs were rescued during a police raid on a slaughterhouse in the northern Philippines, where dog meat is considered a delicacy, police said Sunday. Police raided the slaughterhouse in Mapandan town in the northern province of Pangasinan after receiving a tip, according to town police chief Senior Superintendent Haron Rasid Ali. Ali said 12 dogs had been slaughtered before the raid on Saturday. "Concerned citizens told authorities that dogs were being killed in this compound, so we conducted the raid," he said. The butchered dogs were supposed to be delivered to several restaurants in the mountain resort city of Baguio. Each carcass sells for up to 1,000 pesos (22 dollars). The owner of the slaughterhouse was arrested during the raid, while a village official from a nearby town is being investigated for allegedly being part of the illegal operation. Ali said the rescued dogs were brought to the town's veterinary office for rehabilitation. Despite being illegal, the trade in dog meat is rampant in the northern Philippines where locals say eating the delicacy helps ward off cold weather. Source: http://www.earthtime...
