dattaswami
Comparison of Religious Scriptures All the religions preach that one should withdraw from the family bonds and develop bond with the Lord. The Hindu scripture, Gita says that one should withdraw from the family bonds as a tortoise withdrawing its limbs into the shell. This is something like coming from 'Plus' to 'Zero'. But Holy Jesus says that one should hate the family bonds and even one's own life for the sake of the Lord. This is something like coming from 'Plus' to 'Minus' through 'zero'. The common points are that one should leave the family and get rid of the selfishness. Then the person should attach to the Lord. This is the common point in both the religions. But the message of Holy Jesus is stronger than the Hindu Scripture. This is the specialty of Holy Jesus. If you come to 'Zero' there is a possibility of going to 'Plus' again which is very near to 'Zero'. But if you come to 'Minus' which is far from 'Plus' there is no chance of going to 'Plus' again. If you simply withdraw from the family bond there is a danger of reformation of the bond. But if you hate the family bond there is no possibility of reformation of the same bond. The specialty should not be exposed in the beginning itself. Hindus will be hurt. The common point should be exposed first and then only you have to show the specialty in course of time. This is the talent of a divine preacher only. He will introduce the spiritual knowledge into any human being in this world and He alone knows the divine techniques. Similarly, a Hindu preacher who wants to show the specialty of the Gita over the Bible should expose the common point first and then only expose the edge of his scripture over the other. For ex: the Bible says that God comes again and the Gita says that comes again and again whenever necessary. The common point is here the re-human incarnation. The edge of the Gita over the Bible is that God comes in every generation to avoid the partiality to one generation. Swami appreciates both of you (Christian and Hindu) since you have conveyed your specialties without criticizing the other religion. Now the work of Swami starts in correlating these specialties also due to the difference in the receivers of knowledge. The foreigners in the time of Jesus were having strong family bonds and minus was necessary to keep them in zero. Its effect is seen even now in their weak family bonds. In India, such strong bonds did not exist and zero was sufficient to keep them in zero. Relatively, the family bonds in India are looking stronger than those in foreign country due to these different backgrounds. Regarding coming of Jesus again, He comes in the end for every soul to enquire since there is no re-birth in Christianity. In such case, there is no meaning in saying about the coming of Lord again and again with reference to a particular soul. But in Hinduism, the re-birth is believed and the coming of Lord again and again is taken with reference to even the individual soul. Infact, there is no human re-birth even in Hinduism since the spiritual concept is always universal. It is misunderstood in Hinduism because the human re-birth is true in a special case showing the omnipotence of the Lord, which is unfortunately generalized. The human re-birth is generalized in Hinduism and therefore, the seriousness of the spiritual effort is diluted in the human life. The coming of Lord again and again is to be understood with reference to humanity in general because the Lord comes in every generation to avoid the partiality to a particular generation. Even if one argues about the human re-birth with rigidity, there is only one golden chance in one human life only in which, the soul recognizes the human incarnation. Therefore, we can say that there is no golden human re-birth for any soul, which may be taken as the absence of human re-birth. This proves that there is one God for this entire universe, who taught the same spiritual knowledge with slight differences due to the different contexts of the receivers. 3) When you preach Hindus or Christians in this way you have to remain in the corresponding culture only, though you are beyond every religion. Due to this external culture, the preachers are repelled and cannot associate with others. If you adopt the external Christian culture the Hindus are repelled and vice-versa. Now the program of Swami is to teach the basic one message of Holy Lord to the entire world. The main purpose of this program is not to change the culture, which is only the external cover. Since such a change is only external and artificial, that is only the change of culture. Religion does not mean culture. Religion means spiritualism. If the spirituality of a person is according to the message of Holy Jesus, such a person is only a true Christian and if the spirituality is according to Holy Krishna, such a person is a true Hindu. Swami does not want to change Hindus into apparent Christians and Christians into apparent Hindus. Swami wants to change Hindus into real Christians and Christians into real Hindus. Infact, there is no conversion at this inner level because a real Christianity and a real Hinduism are one and the same. The word ‘real’ indicates spirituality, which is the common golden wire in any religion. Any human being belonging to any religion is born as a copper wire only. The inner copper wire should become the golden wire. There is no use of changing the color of the external plastic cover while the internal copper wire remains as it is. Whatever may be the color of the external plastic cover the internal copper-wire should be changed to become a golden wire. This is the real conversion. In India and in any foreign country, only the external conversion is taking place. Hindus are adopting the Christian culture externally for the sake of some materialistic benefits. When they come home they follow their own religion and spiritualism, which is theoretical meta-physics only. Swami wants to change the internal core of Hindus who are highly corrupt and have become selfish in practice. The practical aspect of the spiritualism is totally missing in Hindus. The theoretical knowledge is in climax. Therefore, there is a very strong necessity for introduction of Holy Jesus to Hindus. Holy Jesus is the only strongest medicine in India to bring practical spiritualism. Hindus are preaching a lot. But their practice is zero. When Swami Rama Thirdha was giving spiritual discourses in Unite States of America, people asked, "Why Indians are so low in spite of such high spiritual knowledge?" Swami Rama Thirdha replied "Our Hindus preach philosophy. Foreigners practice philosophy. Therefore, Hindus are low and foreigners are high in the spiritual levels". Swami Vivekananda wept facing the sky asking "Oh! Lord! Why this India with such a high spiritual knowledge is suffering with poverty?" The reason for this is that Indians never practice the philosophy. They never sacrifice money for the work of Lord. They sacrifice lot of words (prayers) and lot of mind (meditation). Lord comes in the same route as we approach Him. The Lord blessed Indians with good pronunciation of language, good devotion and good knowledge. But the Lord gave poverty to India. Hindus are selfish and store wealth for generations together and never donate for the spiritual work. Foreigners ask even their children (the first generation) to go out and earn after certain age. This is the reason why Swami always appreciates and loves foreigners. Swami always criticizes Hindus for the same reason. But for this reason Swami is impartial to any one. Swami is the universal preacher. Swami replied like this when some Indians asked Him for the reason to always scold the Hindus and to always praise foreigners in this aspect.
