Guest GoNats
After starting the season 6-15, the Nationals had a great homestand, going 8-3 at Nationals Park and showing they could surprise people the rest of the way. The team averaged four runs per game and had a 4.14 ERA during the 11-game stretch. The team had plenty of heroes, but the MVP of the homestand was shortstop Cristian Guzman, who hit .319 (15-for-47) with a homer and seven RBIs. His biggest game came on Saturday, when he drove in six runs against the Pirates. For a team that looked like the worst in MBL during the first month of the season, this is exciting. Our pitchers are not only keeping the team in games, but winning a few with strong performances. And the Nats bats (which looked dead at the start of the season) are starting to find some hits and RBIs. Now all we need is for Zimmermann to start stepping up and hitting the way he is fielding.
