Nia
ATTENTION LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!! HAIR BY VALENCIA GIFT CERTIFICATES WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON!! JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHERS DAY, PROM AND GRADUATION. THEY MAKE GREAT GIFTS......... GOOD FOR FUSION SERVICES ONLY..... FULL SERVICE, TOUCH-UP'S AND REPAIRS........... Thank You Valencia Hello! I'm from London and just joined this message board. I am about to do some modelling for a hair salon and they want to do Micro bonding/fusion to my hair. My hair is shoulder length and pressed (my hair has never been permed/texturised). I am worried of any negative effects it will have on my hair during wearing the extentions and after being taken out, please can you let me kno if there are any effects eg dry/split ends, hair loss when removing or during wear etc. I'v been told by other people thats its bad for my hair but just wanted a professional opinion. Thanks x-x-x-x What a lucky girl, You are in the right country to have the service done Europeans have been doing this method LONG before Americans but I'm sure you will run into some of the same problems that we do, again ask questions during the consultation, make sure they demostrate how they plan to remove the fusion, refusal to do this means there is something to hide I even give my clients a sample strand (by request) to test at home for example they can wash apply oil and any product that they use at home to prove all my claims. If applied and removed properly there is no damage as a matter of fact it should promote hair growth because you can take care of your hair while the system is in place. I hope this helps Thank You for your response Valencia Thanks for your help! I 'll let you know how it goes xxxxx
southernbell1990
Hi Nia, I am not how to answer your question. From my personal experience what Valenica does to my hair does NOT damage my hair. She does not use wax or bond on my hair. You just spray a mixture on the "stuff" that bonds the human hair to my hair and it just SLIPS off!!! I style and take care of this hair as if it's my own hair. I can't tell it's not my hair! Too bad you are not here in the states. Valenica can do some serious hair! Belle
valencia
ATENTION LADIES!!!!!!!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First I want to thank Belle for the wonderful comments but I can only take half the credit. Because of your dedication and because you followed my instructions to the letter you are a happy client. I am only as good as my clientele, it is a partnership so I want to give you the credit that YOU deserve again THANK YOU. It is so important to know that when you get fusion it is a commitment. Yes you can treat it like your hair but it takes work to maintain it. Please follow your extensionist instructions to the letter I allways say it is not damaging WITH PROPER CARE!! that is where you come in. I had a client come in to have her fusion removed so she could have her chemical service done by her stylist and it was time, afterwards she was to come back to me to redo her fusion, I noticed her hair was matted and I asked why? I also asked if she ran her fingers through her hair daily as instructed (she is wearing curly fusion) that prevents matting, she said when she works out she sweats , is too tired and don't allways feel like it. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE again THIS IS A COMMITMENT to your hair, needless to say she emailed me and told me that the fusion took her hair out of course. Please don't get me wrong, she is a great girl and I loved having her as a client, I am only posting this to help others understand that as beautiful as fusion is it takes work, I also wear curly fusion (and I do my own) I have yet to experiance breakage but I WORK HARD because I cherish my hair and refuse to look bad when my clients come in for their consultation I feel we should always lead by example. It is important to consider your lifestyle and the time that you have to devote to your hair. When determining whether to go straight, curly or having the service done at all, your extensionist/ stylist should go over this with you during your consultation, but you need to have an idea how much time you have or willing to spend on maintanace. I must say as a whole I have a great clientele, and get minimum complaints but when I do get a complaint I use it to further educate you. The clients that follow my instructions are a very happy bunch and I want to keep it that way, so please consider all factors before going to anyone to have any extension service done and if you feel or think you can't commit PLEASE RECONSIDER HAVING THE SERVICE DONE. It is so important to me that you go into this with realistic expectations, and I promise to continue to post and keep you informed. That means I may not always say what people want to hear but at least you know I'm honest. Thank You Valencia

I am hoping that your salon is in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. Please respond and let me know the name and address or any contact info I can obtain to make an appt with you. kia
I went two weeks ago to get the hot fusion hair weaving done with the bonding that was already on the hair and half of the hair is out. I have worn weave before but this is the first time for this technique. I can run my fingers through my hair and the strands slide right out. I don't use spritz or anything on my hair...just a small amount of oil sheen when ever I curl it. My question is what went wrong. My stylist stated that it should last for 6 months to a year. She stated that I could perm it and everything. HELP!!! I would like to know what went wrong.

valencia
I went two weeks ago to get the hot fusion hair weaving done with the bonding that was already on the hair and half of the hair is out. I have worn weave before but this is the first time for this technique. I can run my fingers through my hair and the strands slide right out. She stated that I could perm it and everything. HELP!!! I would like to know what went wrong. Hello Kia, I am sorry you had a bad experiance. Sometimes when manufactured pre-tipped hair is used the hair is not secure, that is why I make my own. My standard system is the hot glue gun method but some clients (maybe 5%) have a problem with shedding, that is when I use the pre-tipped system, when I pre-tip the hair myself it insure's each hair strand is embedded in the fusion bond and there are no air pockets so there is minumum shedding and they don't slip. I then fuse the hair using a heat clamp. The reason I don't use that system as my standard is because preparing the hair is very time consumming and is not required for the majority, also the client has to supply the hair far in advance to allow time for proper preparation which I do on my down time and I don't have alot of that but somehow I find the time. Another thing, the system last about four months not six to a year leaving it in too long can cause damage, the strongest part of a hair strand is close to the scalp, that is where the extension is applied as the hair grows it weakens because of wear and tear and chemicals so you want the extentions as close to your scalp as possible, leaving the extensions in the hair for even six months is not good because the bond is about 1/2 inch away from the scalp due to hair growth which means it is now weighing the hair down. Since it has only been two weeks I suggest you go back to your stylist so that she can fix the problem, I'm thinking she got a bad batch of hair, it happens. I hope this helps Thank You for your response Valencia
NoTracksinCollegePark
I got strand by strand fusion with Valencia in June, and I am very happy. Even my own mother did not know this was not my hair and she's hard to fool. The key is to have a fusion specialist who has years of experience with different types of hair textures and hair companies, and is willing to work with you (not rip you off $$). Valencia takes pride in the finished product. There may be some shedding, but it's a matter of finding the type of hair, the style and color, and the grooming products that work best for each individual and her lifestyle. Plus strand by strand fusion with keratin protein is low maintenance compared to some other techniques. Before going to Valencia, I had experienced a totally unprofessional weave specialist in College Park, MD who charged more than $500 (plus the cost of hair and her hair products) to sew a track of cheap, shedding hair (that she'd selected) on your head without braiding your hair and she claims it is "strand by strand". Don't be fooled -- this technique knots and tears your hair out. And you'll spend an hour every mornng trying to get your hair to lay down over a thick track. If you're going to do that you might as well save money and your hair and go with the braid and track method. I should have known something was wrong when the stylist never used her own weave technique on her own hair, plus her own hair always looked bad. Fusion correcty done is so much more natural looking and it saves time that no woman wants to spend worrying about her hair. For now, I am definitely No Tracks in College Park thanks to Valencia

valencia
Does anyone know once you get the hair fusion done what special shampoo/condidtioners you need to use, if any??? Hello Kristin, I tell my clients to concentrate on THEIR hair and not the extensions. For example, if you have a problem with dryness and/or breakage you want to buy a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner, it shouldn't matter what products you use if the fusion bonds are good quality. Fusion bonds of poor quality may require special products, or can't handle certain oils or oil based products. PLEASE ask questions before hand so you are sure what you are getting yourself into. Thank You for your response Valencia
Kristin876
HI, I am a white girl who is considering hair fusion. I have a few questions first... 1.) I have naturally curly hair, which I have to both blow dry AND flat iron to get smooth. I also use an electric round brush to obtain the smooth finished look. Can anyone tell me if I'm going to have to change this routine when getting the fusion? 2.) Does fusion cause a lot of breakage? 3.) How long does it usually last on slow-growing hair? Thanks SO much!
Kristin876
Sorry..one more question! And thanks for being so helpful :) But I have the option of going for either "lacing"(using thin braids under my layers of hair) or fusion...which is the better option for me, considering my styling patterns of blow drying w/an electric round brush and flat iron. I"m scared that all the pulling on it might pull it out...Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if I'm going to have to change this routine when getting the fusion? 2.) Does fusion cause a lot of breakage? 3.) How long does it usually last on slow-growing hair? Thanks SO much! Hello, Kristin, As long as you purchase 100% human hair that matches your hair texture you treat it as if it is your own. It is to your advantage believe it or not if you have slow growing hair because you will need less touch-up's, and as long as you care for your hair properly there is no breakage, BUT no matter what I don't recommend leaving the system in for more than 4 months even with slow growing hair. Please keep in mind, our hair sheds on a daily basis so with fusion or braids well any extension service the hair that sheds is trapped and need to be released eventually. I hope this helps, Thank You Valencia

I have tried several extension systems but I have never tried the lacing system, I don't know enough about it to comment and I refuse to give false information. My advice, find a specialist not a jack of all trades, I know it seems convenient to one stop shop is what I call it, and please don't get me wrong there are several extensionist who are well versed in several area's but personally when it comes to advanced extension services I want a specialist who concentrate on their craft and ALWAYS try to perfect it more. There is not enough hours in a day to perfect every system (for busy people anyway), PLEASE find an extentionist who specialize in lacing and ask questions. Please respond Charlene Hello Charlene, Unless the hair is growing from your scalp there has to be a point of attachment, the fusion bonds are tiny but of course you can feel them if you touch the scalp, they are undetectable because you can't SEE them. Please don't go into this with unrealistic expectations. Thank you for your response Valencia

Thankyou in advance All the best distributers require certification through their respective companies in order to order or use their products. They know if they train you, you will use their product as instructed and they can maintain their good name and reputation. There are several but the absolute best in the world has to be Great Lengths. Thank You for your response Valencia
