valencia
Hi Valencia: Can you wash your hair weekly with fusions and can you really scratch your scalp without them coming out. I ask because I have a severe case of dry scalp (sebbhorric dermatitus). I need a thorough washing when I wash my hair. Do you think fusions could work for me? Thanks, Chante You sure can Chante'....Fusion extensions don't have the restrictions that sew-in's tend to have.... Thanks Valencia
valencia
I NEED TO VENT!!!! Ladies PLEASE don't leave fusion bonds in your hair longer than 4 months!!!!I extend my pre-tipping services to my colleagues....One of my colleagues did a clients fusion extensions 9MONTHS AGO....Yes 9 MONTHS....The clients didn't go to her for maintenance or basics services but booked an appointment 9 months later for a removal....My colleague thought she was going to have a sew-in removed but to her shock the client still had the original fusion bonds in her hair....I have explained time and time again that your hair sheds on a daily basis naturally and when you apply extensions of any kind they prohibit that shedded hair from falling....If that hair isn't released in a timely manner it will matte and/or dread....My colleague was VERY concerned when her client finally returned because she had a hard time removing the bonds....I knew it was because the hair matted around the bond therefore making it difficult for the remover to reach the bond....This just happened today so I'm not sure of the outcome but I'm sure it will not be good....9 months of shedding, matting and not properly maintaining the extensions can and will cause damage....First, let me make it clear that I don't know this client so I can't speak for or about her but there are others out there that has done the same and blamed either the fusion service and/or the stylist and neither is to blame....The question I'm asked the most is about damage and my answer is always the same....Most chemicals and/or services don't cause hair damage, 95% of the time it's human error....PLEASE research and ask questions before having any service done and if there is any doubt in your mind that you can't comply when it comes to maintaining the service.... PLEASE DON'T HAVE IT DONE!!!! I truly hope that client takes responsibility for her actions or lack there of.... Thanks Valencia

Guest Tiffanee
Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my story about hair fusions. I just had my hair done by Valencia who did the most wonderful, fabulous job on my hair! Before going to Valencia, I had another stylist put fusions in my hair and it was disastrous! Despite the fact that this other stylist has been doing hair for years and even owned a couple of beauty shops, I don’t think she knew what she was doing. Warning, this is a long story but I want everyone to learn from my mistake so this doesn't happen to you! Please find someone experienced in doing fusions like Valencia so the story you are about to read does not happen to you. First, the other stylist purchased what I believe to be some very cheap hair. The hair shedded so much that I literally had almost a small bag full of hair coming out of my head daily! The stylist tried to tell me that this was normal but I knew that this style was going to only last for about a month if the hair kept coming out at that rate. Then the stylist told me that I was pulling on my hair too much and that I really shouldn't run my fingers through it or comb it. I paid a huge sum of money to have this service done. I should at least be able to style my hair. True fusions are supposed to be like your real hair. Also, the hair was constantly tangled and matted. The stylist insisted that the hair was human hair but I don't think it was. The hair felt very hard and rough to the touch. It was also very difficult to manage. The first time this stylist put fusions in, she did the cold fusion system which did not work for my hair because my hair is not that coarse so they fell out in less than 24 hrs! An experienced fusion stylist would have known that this system would not work in my texture of hair. I went back to this stylist (big mistake) and she put them back in again (with the same cheap hair!) but this time I think she used some kind of polywax product to do a hot fusion. If you have seen Valencia's website, you will know polywax is a huge no, no! She then sent me on my way and did not give me any instructions on how to care for my hair once I left. When I asked, she just told me that I needed to come back to her for maintenance. With a properly done fusion, you should be able to take care of the hair as if it is your own. Why would I have to come back to her every time I needed my hair just washed? I exercise a lot so I need to be able to wash my own hair. For the next few weeks, piles (and I do mean piles) of hair shedded daily. Again, this stylist told me it was completely normal. Then whole fusions began to slide out of my hair and I had visible patches showing where the fusion hair was suppose to be. About a week ago, I went to my regularly scheduled appointment to have my hair washed with this stylist (I had tried to wash it on my own and it had gotten so tangled and matted I really needed to have her fix it) and to my surprise, the shop was closed (on a Saturday!). No one had called from the shop to tell me that it was going to be closed. With everything else that had happened during this whole dramatic process, I became very concerned. I went to another beauty shop to have my hair washed that day and the person there told me (in a round about way) that my fusions were not done correctly. She suggested that I find someone who only did fusions. So I did some research, looked on the internet, and thank goodness I found Valencia. I scheduled a consultation and appointment with Valencia right away. I knew from our first meeting that she knew what she was doing. Valencia explained the process she uses to fuse hair, showed me examples of her work, and gave me instructions on how to take care and remove them. She also answered my questions without hesitation. Before getting my hair fused with Valencia, I had to remove the old fusions first and that was a nightmare! None of the bond removers or other methods I was told to use removed the bonds that easily from the first stylist. The extensions finally came out but what was left was a sticky gum like residue from the bond that I could not remove. It was like gum was stuck all over parts of my head! I called the stylist directly on her cell, told her about the difficulty I was having, and asked her to remove the sticky residue (thank goodness I had her cell number since her shop still was not open). The stylist told me to come by the shop but to come through the back entrance. Can you say too much drama! When I arrived, the stylist tried to spray Sea Breeze and I think acetone in my hair to remove the residue without success. It took two applications of a deep conditioner followed by sitting under a very hot dryer (twice) and literally pulling some of my hair out to remove all the sticky gum like substance. The stylist then tried to blame everything from the bond remover I used to the shampoo I used for the reason why I could not remove the bonds. Yes I should have asked her how to remove these but as a professional, I think it was her responsibility to give me instructions. If there is a particular shampoo or bond remover I shouldn’t use, she should have told me. In case you are wondering why I had to enter the back door of the salon, I will tell you what she told me and then I will tell you what I think and you can draw your own conclusions. The stylist told me that she was not renewing her lease and that she was closing her shop to open a new, upscale shop in another county ouside of Prince Georges County. She said that business was too slow in the area. Then she told me that she was probably going to sell her shop to someone else who would buy it as is. While she was telling me all this, a few people were in the shop (not clients) and they were moving furniture out the back door right in front of me! The best part is while she was trying another attempt to comb the residue out of my hair, she told me to quickly run out the back door and hide when the “maintenance man” came by. When I asked her why I had to leave she said that she was not suppose to be in there working. I think she is getting evicted and going out of business which explains why she did not inform her clients about the shop closing, why she overcharged me, and why she attempted to do a service on me that she was not knowledgeable about. She also did not give me an address to where she was relocating. She said she would "call me." I’m just happy that I left that day with a sore head. Yes she ripped me off too(I spent way too much $$$$ to have her do my fusions) but I was just happy that I had hair left in my head. This whole experience taught me a costly but valuable lesson. Just because someone is a hairdresser, it does not mean he or she can do all services. Ask questions. Have the stylist show you examples of their work on the service you want. Valencia showed me on a sample extension bond how to remove it. Finally, if you do have your service done in a shop or salon and there are not a lot of clients - ever (even if it looks fancy and professional) Run! The stylist may not know how to do the service you request and may only care about taking your money. So ladies, please be careful about who you have do your hair for fusions or any other service. In a way, I’m happy that all this happened to me because now I have found Valencia who not only knows her craft but truly cares about her clients. Valencia is a true professional who answered all my questions, gave me instructions on how to take care of my hair and gave me the best hair style. My husband loves it and I have already received lots of complements on how good it looks. My hair feels good too! Thank you so much Valencia! Guest Angel
Hi Valencia, I am very impressed with your fusion styles. I am interested in getting wavy/curly fusion however my natural hair was relaxed less than 6 months ago. I understand you apply a texturizer to the natural hair to blend. Would a be a candidate for this method under those circumstances? Angel

Guest Hair By Jazz
Hi my name is Jennifer and I also perform this method. The process is quite complex; but i would reccomend that you use the copper coil method for fusions, if you want to relax your hair, you can also color the hair also. If you want to learn how to do the methods I would gladly let you have some lessons. Thanks, jenniferwilliams7696@yahoo.com
