Psycho
SYPHILIS RATES UP FOR 7TH STRAIGHT YEAR The U.S. syphilis rate rose for the seventh straight year in 2007, driven by a continued surge in cases among homosexual and bisexual men, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recently reported. Homosexual and Bisexual men accounted for 64 percent of syphilis cases in 2007, up from about 5 percent in 1999. The rate of syphilis among DC Homosexual and Bisexual men is double the national average. It is estimated that 1 of every 4 DC resident has one form of STD and it has become more of a political issue than one of a health care based upon decisions by our local leaders to fund free condoms, free medications and more. These stats concern local GLBT groups out of fear that it will be used to oppose GLBT rights. Edited March 19, 2008 by Slick Willie
