Our community focus will be the Anacostia River. Place: Woodridge Public Library 1801 Hamlin Street, NE, Washington, DC 20018 Date: Sunday, March 9, 2008 Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Admission: Free and Open to All Presentations will include: An exploration of the history of the Anacostia River, dating from dinosaurs to ballparks and continuing economic development efforts. Jim Connolly, Executive Director of the Anacostia Watershed Society, will be sharing video slides and stories of his organizations efforts to restore the Anacostia. The Woodridge Library and the adjacent Langdon Park are located within the Hickey Run Watershed, a tributary of the Anacostia. For those unable to attend this meeting, don't miss our next month's meeting to be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2008. We will continue our investigation of the history of the Anacostia River with a tentative boat trip along the river. A sign-up sheet will be available at our March meeting for those interested. Tour details will be provided later this month. Our meetings take place the second Sunday of every month.
