Guest James P. Moran
As you may know, the economic stimulus package passed by Congress last week was signed into law by the President yesterday. It provides an increase in home mortgage limits for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration, small business tax breaks for new expenditures and, most notably, tax relief to millions of Americans in the form of rebate checks. You may be wondering whether you are eligible to receive a tax rebate check and, if so, what you need to do to receive your check. To shed light on that subject, I wanted to share with you an informative article published in the Wall Street Journal that explains, in an easy to follow Q&A format 1) who is eligible for a rebate, 2) how much that rebate will be, and 3) how to ensure you receive it. If you have specific questions, the IRS has more information on their website, or feel free to contact my Alexandria District Office at 703-971-4700.
