Guest IhateScams
Here is one that I got. I do not even have Ebay. Dear valued eBay member: It has come to our attention that your eBay account information needs to be updated as a matter of precaution and security. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your personal records you will not run into any future problems with the online service. However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension. Please update your records on or before July 20, 2004. Once you have updated your account records your eBay session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. To update your eBay records click on the following link: http://www.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebaylSAPl.dllSignin.htm Can't somebody do something about this. What laws are there to prosecute companies that do this?

What laws are there to prosecute companies that do this? it takes a lot of resources to track>prosecute who does that. Best will be to protect yourself and be aware of at least the most common scams. Try to learn what the security requirements, privacy policy, personal account management are of the company/organization you deal with. ex: web address of eBay sign-in page begins ONLY with http://signin.ebay.com/ for more info on eBay stuff go to: http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/isgw...heft-spoof.html http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/index.html be careful.
