Luke_Wilbur
How dare those wacky leftist at Moveon.org…The Bush administration would never use a military general to spin false information about the war in Iraq. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell Addresses the U.N. Security Council: POWELL: “While we were here in this council chamber debating Resolution 1441 last fall, we know, we know from sources that a missile brigade outside Baghdad was disbursing rocket launchers and warheads containing biological warfare agents to various locations…” POWELL: “…Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500 tons of chemical weapons agents. That is enough agents to fill 16,000 battlefield rockets.” POWELL: “Iraqi officials deny accusations of ties with Al Qaida. These denials are simply not credible. Last year an Al Qaida associate bragged that the situation in Iraq was, quote, “good,'’ that Baghdad could be transited quickly.” Perhaps it’s time the American people begin to think more critically about our current situation. Your stating apples and oranges here. Patraeus is a General in charge of the Army in Iraq. Powell at the time was Secretary of State. Guest BlingBling_*
FYI... Yesterday, the Unites States "suspended all land travel by U.S. diplomats and other civilian officials throughout Iraq, except in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone." The move comes days after Blackwater USA, a private security firm often hired to protect civilian officials, was "allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of civilians during an attack on a State Department motorcade." "The embassy has suspended official U.S. government civilian ground movements outside the International Zone (IZ) and throughout Iraq," said a notice released by the State Department. "This suspension is in effect in order to assess mission security and procedures, as well as a possible increased threat to personnel traveling with security details outside the International Zone." "The decision effectively halted Blackwater's operations because a main task of the company is to escort diplomats, including Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker," reports the Washington Post today. "Embassy officials did not say whether they were seeking a replacement security company, but any extended suspension of travel could impair diplomats' work in Iraq, limiting their scope of direct influence to the walled Green Zone." Guest Always Red
Last week, Hillary Clinton voted against a resolution condemning MoveOn.org for its vicious personal attack on General David Petraeus, the highly-respected leader of our Armed Forces in Iraq. Now, Bill Clinton is joining in, but - typically - he's taking it even further, angrily attacking those who condemned the ad: To see Clinton's comments, click here. Why are the Clintons so invested in defending MoveOn.org? Well, remember what MoveOn.org's original purpose was? It was founded to attack any Republican who dared stand against the Clinton machine during the former President's impeachment and trial in the Senate for perjury and obstruction of justice. Since then, MoveOn.org has branched out. They opposed military action in Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. After the 2004 elections, the group's director said "Now it's our party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back." To do that, they have funded radical, far-left candidates in races across the country - even against moderate Democrats who understand the stakes in the War on Terror. And, of course, they have attacked the patriotism and loyalty of our men and women in uniform. Not many people, even Democrats, dared to defend MoveOn.org in the wake of its attack on General Petraeus. But if Bill and Hillary Clinton understand anything, it's political payback. MoveOn.org attacks their enemies, so they're attacking MoveOn.org's enemies. If it teaches us anything, it's that the Clintons haven't changed one bit since the 1990s. Is that what we want back in the White House: Bill and Hillary once again using the power of the federal government to defend their friends and attack their enemies? Guest human_*
Look on the bright side, through the democrats game of politics "Power no matter what the Cost", we now have a middle east that is going nuclear. And with the Democrats in power, they still can't find Osama Bin Laden. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last week, Hillary Clinton voted against a resolution condemning MoveOn.org for its vicious personal attack on General David Petraeus, the highly-respected leader of our Armed Forces in Iraq. Guest Dissident Voice
The Democrats are not in power. They have a slim edge in the Legislative Branch. The Executive Branch is Republican. The Judicial Branch is Republican.

Blackwater is the private empire of billionaire Erik Prince, a major Republican fundraiser and bankroller of several fundamentalist Christian organizations. His private army employs some 2,300 active gunners and boasts a register of 21,000 ready to serve on call. He has the largest privately held arsenal in the country and the expertise and firepower to bring down a small country. In 2006, Prince expanded internationally, forming a new subsidiary in Barbados, outside American taxes and regulation, to train foreign forces, often funded by American military aid. Elite Blackwater soldiers have conducted secretive "black jobs" for the CIA or other spy agencies.
