The DC Improv
The DC Improv is proud to be hosting a very special showcase where members of our comedy school alumni plus local DC area comedians will join forces for a one night extravaganza. Immerse yourself in the world of comedy and experience an evening featuring stand-up, Improv, sketches and hilarious comedy videos. Welcome to The DC Improv's Variety Showcase Show! STAND-UPS: Bart Voisin - Originally from South Louisiana, and settling in the Maryland area, Bart Voisin brings a unique perspective on everyday, mundane activities...like death and beating children. Right now, he is a fresh face, although a little weathered, to the local DC comedy scene. He is also a product of the DC Improv's Comedy School and a sometimes player in the DC Improv's very own comedy school cast. John Hilla - John Hilla, a graduate of Matt Kazam's Stand-Up Comedy Class at the Improv, performs at venues throughout the Washington, DC area. He has, thus far, never been convicted of a crime." Lisa Davis- Lisa Davis is an up and coming comic who has performed in Nickelodeon's Funniest Mom Contest, The Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, The New York Comedy club in NYC and the DC Comedyfest. IMPROV: 5-6-7-8 - 5-6-7-8 cast members Amy Born, Elisa Cohen, Ryan Gillis, Pam Nash, Greg Niehus and Ben Willman will be performing a 10-minute improvisation based upon their sketch/improv show "5-6-7-8" which will debut this fall at the DC Improv. The show explores the humor that derives from social contexts across four decades. SKETCH: Vera Gabriel- A native Washingtonian and former television producer/host, Vera Gabriel brings her own unique brand of physical comedy to the Improv stage. Music and dance figure predominately in her aspirations. Her ukulele is always close at hand. She is currently performing the role of Mamma Bear in the Adventure Theater/Glen Echo production of "What's a Wolf To Do?" (Through June 24, 2007). "I am fortunate to have found the Improv Comedy School. A place where I have been encouraged to color outside the lines!"
