Psycho
ROBERT BOBB vs. ADRIAN FENTY While Mayor Fenty is still far from asking the US Congress to amend the DC Home Rule Act to allow him control of the DC Public Schools as he must do more than just get the backing on the DC City Council, what is DC School Board President Robert Bobb doing to railroad Fenty's goal. Rest assured, Bobb does not want to yeild any power over the schools to Fenty so we must ask, what is Bobb doing behind the scenes to convince the US Congress that a mayoral take over is not necessary as the US Congress will allow Bobb to argue why the DC Home Rule Act should not be amended. The US Congress when drafting the DC Home Rule Act believed that keeping the public schools out of the hands of the mayor and city council would be in the best interest of the children so that our schools would not be pawns in a game of political chess. Thus, Fenty has both a congressional bias and the ability of Bobb to contend with to achieve control of the schools.

I hope you are right (how often is that expressed lol) and don't forget about the court challenge.
Psycho
Fenty may be a far cry from taking over our schools. Will Congress allow him to bypass a referendum which is outlined in the Home Rule Act as a requirement for a change? I hope you are right (how often is that expressed lol) and don't forget about the court challenge.
