Kerry Takes The Lead

The INDEPENDENT'S front page reports the findings of a poll that, for the first time, suggests that more American voters now think that President Bush's election rival, John Kerry, would do a better job of handling the war on terrorism. The paper says that the war on terrorism had been considered to be Mr Bush's strongest suit among voters, and that his re-election has never looked more uncertain.
