Psycho Posted March 16, 2007 Report Share Posted March 16, 2007 VALENCIA MOHAMMED FOR DC CITY COUNCIL AT LARGE 2008 Rumors are floating around that Valencia Mohammed an activist not by choice may be throwing her hat into the political ring again for the DC City Council at large race in 2008, for the seat now held by Councilman Kwame Brown. Word has it that Ms. Mohammed is concerned about the growing neglect of the poor and minorities in our city and what appears to be a white power purge toward greater gentrification and the intentional lack of real services for minorities and the poor by a callous Mayor Adrian Fenty and others. Ms. Mohammed in her quest to seize the seat currently held by Kwame Brown may be faced by the likes of A. Scott Bolden and Kathy Patterson both who are said to have been asked by Mayor Adrian Fenty to make a run for Kwame Brown’s seat with the belief that if four African Americans are running, they will cancel each other out and Fenty’s real choice Kathy Patterson will prevail and help enlarge the white majority on the council and in turn, it will help him achieve his goals. Just as Fenty and his backers Friends of Joe Sternlieb are backing Muriel Bowser for the ward 4 seat, they are already gearing up to help Kathy Patterson and have asked A. It appears that your only goal is to mislead the reader's impression of Ms. Valencia Mohammed. As a matter of fact, Ms. Mohammed has made her presence felt more now than before in hearings before our DC City Council. As for what Fenty is up to; Well, I have very reliable sources that will bare out what I have said in time. Please be more specific next time. I would support Ms. Mohammed if she ran! To Whom It May Concern, Why would you support Ms. Mohammed? Are you in agreement that running for office is only a popularity contest or are you ready to clearly express why you have support for any political candidate beyond, " Well, uh, duh, I think that she really will serve DC residence better." Your insistence in being unsupported is expressed by your failure to refer to exactly what you have been impressed by in respect to a candidates political agenda and not merely your personal preferance. If you say you have "reliable resources" exercise your freedom to speak and do just that. Hot air allows balloons to float and also allows cheap, unsupported opinions to be expressed and just move on into the atmosphere without anyone ever really hearing and being moved by their significance.
