We are currently looking for children and adolescents with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 to participate in a research study. We are trying to learn more about the best way of teaching people to read. WHAT: Comprehensive evaluation of reading-related skills for about 3 hours, Possible Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans of the brain; If qualified, a minimum of 160 hours of tutoring (Two separate tutoring sessions for 80 hours at your local Lindamood-Bell Clinic) and Parent questionnaires. WHERE: Kennedy Krieger Institute - 707 North Broadway, Baltimore, MD BENEFITS & RISKS: There are no direct medical benefits and no significant risks to participating in the study.
