Human Posted October 17, 2006 Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 China, US to hold meeting every year for space cooperation: official Space agency officials from China and the United States are to meet annually to discuss the development of bilateral space cooperation, said Sun Laiyan, administrator of China National Space Administration, on Thursday. He said the two countries would jointly explore fields of possible cooperation, such as space science, geoscience and space debris. Sun said his U.S. counterpart, Michael Griffin, administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), agreed to a four-point Chinese proposal to boost cooperation during formal talks in Beijing in September. Under the proposal, the two nations will strengthen exchanges and communication, increase mutual trust, foster friendship, and promote space cooperation. They would eliminate obstacles and boost mutual trust so as to develop constructive and cooperative ties, Sun said.
